An Auckland-based corporate group relied heavily on Excel for executive reporting and board presentations. Financial, operational and commercial performance data was managed across multiple spreadsheets maintained by different departments. Preparing board reports required significant manual consolidation, validation and formatting each month, creating delays and increasing the risk of inconsistencies across reported metrics.

Because reporting processes were highly manual, leadership lacked a reliable real-time view of organisational performance. Executive teams often waited several days for updated financial summaries, and reporting preparation required significant effort from finance and operations staff. The reliance on spreadsheets also made it difficult to maintain consistent governance around KPI definitions, forecasting assumptions and data integrity across the organisation.

Roar Data implemented a Power BI executive reporting framework designed to centralise financial and operational performance data. Financial systems, operational performance metrics and commercial reporting datasets were integrated into a unified Power BI data model that standardised KPI calculations and reporting logic across the organisation.

Executive dashboards were developed to provide leadership teams with clear visibility into financial performance, operational efficiency and commercial outcomes. Automated board reporting packs were created with scheduled data refresh, structured governance controls and consistent performance metrics to ensure accuracy and reliability.

Following implementation, reporting preparation time was reduced by 75%, significantly reducing the manual workload on internal teams. Forecast accuracy improved by 18% within the first reporting cycle, while leadership gained immediate access to reliable executive performance dashboards for faster and more informed decision-making.
