Healthcare Analytics Transformation
How workforce, patient flow and financial reporting were brought together for a healthcare provider across multiple sites.
Key outcomes
A Brisbane-based healthcare provider was relying on multiple disconnected clinical, finance and operational systems to manage performance reporting across the organisation. Key operational data was stored across several legacy platforms, making it difficult to obtain a unified view of organisational performance.
Monthly executive reporting required manual consolidation of spreadsheets from multiple departments, including clinical operations, finance and administration. This process was time consuming and often resulted in delays, inconsistent KPI definitions and limited confidence in the accuracy of reported performance metrics. Leadership teams frequently waited several days for updated reports, reducing their ability to respond quickly to emerging operational or financial issues.
To address these challenges, the organisation engaged Roar Data to design and implement a structured Power BI reporting framework that would unify performance data across the business. Five legacy systems were integrated into a centralised and governed data model, creating a single source of truth for organisational reporting.
Roar Data developed enterprise-grade dashboards for executive, operational and financial stakeholders. These dashboards provided real-time visibility into key performance indicators including occupancy rates, funding performance, care quality indicators and operational cost tracking. By standardising KPI definitions and reporting logic, the organisation was able to ensure consistent and reliable reporting across departments.
Following implementation, manual reporting processes were reduced by 65%, while executive reporting cycles dropped from five days to just one day. KPI definitions were standardised across the organisation, improving transparency and data governance.
Leadership gained real-time visibility into critical performance metrics, enabling faster decision-making, improved forecasting accuracy and stronger operational accountability across the healthcare organisation.
